South Coast Wolves Newsletter #2Welcome to all new players and parents.
Clubs News· As you have probably seen in recent media releases our new club name is the “South Coast Wolves”. The new name sees the return of the well recognised Wolves brand and also supports unification of football in the Illawarra region under the unification body, South Coast Football. Our new strips will also carry the South Coast Football brand on the sleeves. · Our very valued Gold and Silver sponsors, Illawarra Coal and Toshiba TMIEC have again agreed to support our Junior Club for the 2010 season · The arrangements with WIN stadium have been completed and we can confirm that all club Youth and Senior home games will be played at WIN. There is also the possibility that some 18s games will also be played here. This is a major coup for the club and the ground is already being touted as the best prepared ground in the NSW Premier League. Of course everybody is aware that construction of the new revamped Western grandstand will commence later in the year. · Discussions are still in progress on a proposal for combining some Illawarra District League games and Wolves games at WIN in another show of support to the unification of South Coast Football. · Work is currently in progress on the refurbishment of the Keira High school bottom grounds to again provide training facilities for our junior teams. The grounds are already starting to look better and should be in good condition ready for training to commence on the grounds early in the new year. · Further good news is that the current Wollongong FC website will be maintained and we are currently in the process of rebuilding and training people to be able to maintain the site. It is our intention that in the New Year this will become the central point of all our club communications. Fees· Thank you to all players and parents that made registration day and committed there initial $1000 deposit. This has put the club in a good cash flow position and has allowed the purchase of our new strips and training equipment as well as funding refurbishment of our training grounds. · We are very aware that this cost is a substantial financial burden on parents particularly at this time of the year and we thank everybody for the excellent response. As far as we are aware we still have the 2nd lowest fees in the Premier League. · Just a reminder that all fees must be completed in full by our gear collection date of 13 February, 2010. Any outstanding payments that are not received will result in players not being available for the first competition date being 27 February, 2010. Unfortunately due to issues in past years this has been agreed as a club policy and coaches have agreed that this will be enforced. · Fee payments can be made directly to Cynthia at the Fraternity football offices. Playing Strips / Clothing· We are proud to announce Dixon Sports as our new strip supplier for the next 3 years after kindly coming on board will a 3 year sponsorship deal to supply new strips, balls and training equipment to both the Junior and Senior club. · The new strip and apparel is of high quality and I’m sure that we will be one of the best outfitted clubs in the league. · WE WILL BE HOLDING A GEAR COLLECTION DATE AT THE SOUTH COAST WOLVES OFFICE AT THE FRATERNITY CLUB ON SATURDAY, 13 FEBRUARY, 2010 FROM 9.00 AM TO 11.00 AM. We are very lucky to have two very valuable Junior club sponsors in Illawarra Coal and Toshiba TMIEC. In order to continue to consolidate and improve our club assets we are always looking for fundraising and sponsorship support. We are hopeful that one day we can secure our very own junior training and playing facility. · The junior committee would like to put together a fundraising committee that will work together to continue to provide smaller funds that will assist in the operation of the club and ultimately feed back into developing our young foot balling talent. · If you are willing to help please contact Cynthia at the main office. Junior Club Photographers· We require a number of budding photographers that would be willing to take photos at junior games throughout the season.
