Wolves the boss at Bossy FC

1ST Grade 3-0 WIN - Youth Grade 1-1 Draw

The Wolves travelled to State league team Bossy FC’s ground in Moorebank for the third trial of their pre-season campaign.

A small bumpy pitch, a crowd of around 100 spectators and the smell of sizzling cevapis greeted the players.
From the first whistle the South Coast Wolves had the measure of Bossy.  Short crisp passes front to back and side to side had the Bossy baffled. Captain Lisandro Berbis dominated his area with intent and marshalled the ball distribution. Jason Trifiro continued Wolves dominance in the Bossy half and it wasn’t long before Andrew Keep was brought down in the box after a great through ball from the midfield.  Andrew Paine stepped up and slotted the first for Wolves.
Shortly after, a Tynan Diaz cross found Andrew Paine unmarked in the box – after three swipes the ball trickled into the net for a well deserved second goal.
South Coast Wolves began the second half in the same commanding fashion and Tayfun Buyukkopru added a third goal to seal the match at 3-0.
“We played good football and our passing sequences were quite sharp. We’re defending positively as well and seem to be building up a better awareness of the game. We created a lot of chances.”Trevor Morgan said.
“We’re still a little impatient and tend to force things sometimes, but otherwise a good team performance. Our fitness is on track for this time of the season and we’ll definitely do some more work on that before we start playing for points.”

UNDER 20’S 1-1 DRAW

The first half was all Bossy as Wolves consistently lost possession in their own half. We failed to stop their attacks until the defensive line and gave away at least 6 corners in the first 10 minutes. It was only a matter of time until Bossy deservedly scored after dominating the first half.

The second half was a different story as coach Alex Prophet would have had a few quiet words to say to the lads about their performance.   Wolves finally found their rhythm and with the injection of first grade trialliist Andreas Gomez into the midfield, Wolves started passing to feet and attacking The Bossy.

Two shots hit the crossbar before young Johnny Martinoski curled in a shot from the goaline and made it 1-1.

The second half proved the team has the ability to perform well, but the first half showed that the team is still a work in progress that needs finetuning.

Next trial is Sunday 7th February V Wollongong United at Macedonia Park. Kick-off First Grade 6pm and Under 20’s at 4pm.

Juniors aged 13-18 play Blacktown at Elizabeth Park, Bellambi on Sunday 7th starting at 9am.
